List of Scholarships for Engineering Students in India

Many universities offer a scholarship to engineering students on the basis of merit or through an entrance test. This basically depends on their hard work & the marks obtained. There are various types of scholarships that are being offered to the students, which are as follows:


Merit Cum Means Scholarships


IOCL Scholarship – It is offered to students from weaker economic section, who have taken admission in the college. This scholarship is for the students who have an annual income less than 1 lakh.


ONGC Scholarship – It is provided by ONGC for SC/ST students who are pursuing professional courses. Out of 500 students, 247 are offered to Engineering students.

LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship – It is provided by LIC & students pursuing graduation in any stream are eligible for the same.

Panasonic Scholarship – It is for 1st year engineering students who either hold BPL card or for students who are not able to fund their studies.

MOMA Scholarship – It is offered by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India. It is offered to the students whose family income is less than 2.5 Lakhs.

North South Foundation Scholarship – It is for students pursuing professional courses & is given for the entire course subject to the performance.

Central Sector Scholarship – It is for the students of college & university. It is awarded by CBSE.


Merit Scholarships


IET Scholarship – IET offers this scholarship to second & third year engineering students of India.


UGC Scholarship for rank holders – It is given to students securing the 1st & 2nd rank in University.

NTPC Scholarship – It is for SC, ST  & PH students studying at IIT, NIT & BIT but to those who have completed 1st year.

NEST Scholarship – NEST is distributed to the degree students of science, Engineering & medical courses.


TOEFL Scholarship – It is for UG/Graduates in TOEFL accepted institutes.


Aditya Birla Scholarship – It is offered by Aditya group for the financially weak students pursuing studies in IIT, IIM & BITs.


Along with these, there are many more organizations which offer scholarships to engineering students under above-mentioned programs. One can get the benefits of these scholarships after performing exceptional in terms of academic scores.
