The Punjab University LLB Entrance Exam

The Punjab University, Chandigarh conducts the PU LLB Entrance Exams to hold admissions to the LLB three-year programme. The Punjab University has four law departments affiliated to it. All the law aspirants who have completed their undergraduate degree with any well-known institution or are even on the way to completion of one are eligible to apply for admissions into PU LLB 2018. Also, the most important thing to consider is the fact that candidates will not simply be eligible to get admissions into the LLB course by merely appearing for the Punjab University LLB Entrance Test. The applying candidates also need to satisfy all the eligibility conditions necessary for the admissions, and they should also clear the cut-off marks in the PU LLB Entrance Test.

PU LLB Eligibility Criteria

Any candidate applying to the university for the given course should have obtained either a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree in any course with at least 45 percent marks in aggregate from the Punjab University or from any other university that is under-recognition of the Bar Council Of India. In the event that the candidate has obtained a bachelor’s degree from the same university or any other university that is recognized by the Syndicate, via modern Indian languages Hindi or Urdu or Punjabi or in a classical language, for example, Persian, the aggregate marks will be calculated by taking into consideration the total marks that a candidate has obtained in all of the languages mentioned above, excluding the marks that are allotted for the optional paper, while taking English and selective subjects into consideration.

PU LLB Application Form

All interested applicants who wish to enroll can apply online from the university’s web-based portal or can do the same through the offline method by directly getting forms for the same. On the online front, a candidate can apply simply by clicking the apply now button on the website. After that, the candidates need to register themselves online and get registration ID and password using the ‘new candidate registration’ tab. The candidates are requested to kindly note down the details provided by the university which will prove further beneficial in the processes to come. Then the Candidate will be asked to upload their passport sized photographs and their signature into the application form. After completion, the candidates will be directed to the payment page where they will have to process a payment of Rs. 2100 for the application form.

PU LLB Admit Card

The admit cards for the PU LLB rare always released via their web-based portal. The PU LLB admit card contains the roll number, which the candidate will be using to appear for the test. The admit card contains the name, details, roll number as well as date, time and venue for the entrance test. Hence, it is advisable for the candidates to keep the admit card with them safely and bring the same with them whenever they have to appear for the test. The Admit cards can be downloaded by the candidates from the respective login accounts of the candidates which were initially provided to them during the time of registration. The candidates must also keep in mind that they will not be allowed to sit for the test unless they bring the admit cards with them on the same day.

PU LLB Merit List

The Punjab university publishes a merit list just one day before the PU LLB counseling. The merit list is usually released in a tentative or provisional manner, where all the applying candidates shall be able to check both the merit list – preliminary and final via their web-based portal. The provisional merit list only considers the scores obtained by the candidates in the PU LLB entrance test, but the final merit list considers the candidate’s score in graduation, post- graduation or any other equivalent examination.

PU LLB Counseling

The PU LLB counseling for the admissions to BA,, LLB five-year integrated courses under all three centers of Punjab University usually take pace during the first week of July, each academic year, at different campuses following the PU LLB counseling schedule. All candidates are required to appear in person aided with their original documents for which they had submitted duplicates during the application process. For seat allotment of candidates, the PU LLB counseling uses the merit list of the PU LLB entrance exam. Moreover, candidates who for some reason are unable to furnish their original documents or are unable to pay the necessary fees for the PU LLB Counseling will not be able to sit for their admissions. Hence, candidates should be very certain of the fact that they report to the counseling venue at the given time on the given date. The counseling session for PU LLB concludes the admission procedure for all courses for that academic year.
