The Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test

The Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test is also popularly known as the TS LAWCET, and the Kakatiya University conducts it on behalf of the Telanga State Council of Higher Education. The test is conducted for admission into undergraduate law programmes that are offered by the universities and colleges in the state of Telangana. There are a total of 4090 seats for the three years and five-year integrated programmes in law. The Kakatiya University in Warangal conducts the test during the month of May every year. It is a one and a half hour test that is held annually for all law aspirants who are seeking admissions in the three years and five years integrated courses of LLB and BL offered by all the law colleges in the state of Telangana. The TS LAWCET in 2017 was conducted on an offline basis, and 22 law colleges had participated in the same. The admission process for the test comprises of more than 4670 seats across seats for courses such as LLB, B.A, and BBA LLB. These courses are made available to the candidates by the law colleges after the candidates have successfully passed in the TS LAWCET and have cordially appeared for their counseling procedure.

TS LAWCET Application Form

Applications for the TS LAWCET are usually distributed during the month of March via the web-based portal by the Kakatiya University on behalf of TSCHE. The last dates for submission are usually during the last week of April of every academic year. Candidates must keep in mind that before filling in the applications for the same, they are requested to keep all the necessary documents at hand like scanned copies of mark sheets, photographs of the candidate and their digital signature, the name of the applicant’s parents, their mobile number, category details and center details, etc. The candidates need to make sure that they enter the correct details in the TS LAWCET application form. While submitting the forms, the candidates are required to make an additional payment of applications fees which is for Rs. 350, but for SC/ST candidates, the charges are Rs. 250 only. After successful payment and registration, the candidates will be provided with a registration number which they need to keep with themselves to progress further through the various stages of the admission process.

 TS LAWCET Admit Card

The admit cards for the test are released during the month of May, in its second week. The admit card contains the details entered by the candidate in the first phase in their application form. Candidates can download the admit card by visiting the official website of the university, by entering their registered mobile number and DOB details. The TS LAWCET also acts as a hall ticket for the candidate when they have to appear for the TS LAWCET. The admit card also indicates the course the candidate has chosen, their chosen exam center, the time of exam and the roll number of the candidate. Hence, it is mandatory for all candidates to carry their admit card whenever they will will appear for their exam.

TS LAWCET Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the TS LAWCET is formulated and determined by the TSCHE. All candidates who are unable to fulfill the eligibility criteria for the same will not be able to appear for the exam. Hence, is it advisable for all applying candidates to go through the eligibility criteria of the test before filling the application form. The eligibility criteria inform the candidates about the nationality conditions, the minimum level of qualifications required, age as well as other requirements which the candidates need to fulfill. Upon successfully fulfilling all the mentioned requirements, the candidates can apply to the three-year and five-year integrated courses for undergraduate law through the undergraduate law entrance test by the state of Telangana.

TS LAWCET Counseling

The counseling for the test begins during the first week of November, each academic year. The candidates can appear for the counseling session held by the university based on the scores obtained by the candidate in the TS LAWCET. Initially, the candidates have to register for the counseling session by clicking on the web-based lank provided to them by the center officials. When the applicants click on the link, they will be asked to enter their registered mobile number and the hall ticket number. Next, the candidates can opt for colleges of their choice they wish to apply with, from within the banner of participating colleges in TS LAWCET. Whatever choices the candidates make through the web-based portal will be deemed as final and will not be subject to any change after the entrance has been closed. In the last step, the candidates will have to appear for the counseling at the given centers mentioned to them by the university, where they are required to complete their document verification and payment of the remaining fee amount. Successful completion of the TS LAWCET counseling ensures the candidate’s admission into the course and college of the applicant’s choice.
